Backflow Preventer Testing & Repair

Safeguard your water supply with backflow prevention.

Drinkable Water Safety

NIFCO’s NICET Certified inspectors will make sure your backflow prevention device is used to protect water supplies from contamination or pollution. Annual inspections will help prevent costly problems that could occur. Without timely inspections, devices may fall victim to pressure failure which can corrupt the water supply. For optimal safety, it is highly recommended your system undergoes annual testing and inspection. The costs of a backflow incident – in litigation and damages, lost productivity, company reputation, premiums and more – can be devastating.

Backflow Testing

Annual testing of backflow preventers is required by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services Title 179. NIFCO’S team of registered Grade 6 water operators can test all backflow preventers including both fire and domestic devices. Testing all devices during the same visit can help save the customer time and money. Our licensed staff can also repair or replace failed or defective devices.

When drinking water piping connects to various plumbing fixtures or water utilizing equipment, a cross-connection is created. If improperly protected, contamination can result.

Backflow Prevention

Backflow failure can be damaging to your facility and dangerous to the health of the occupants. Backflow can occur when draining down a building to make a plumbing repair, a broken water main, fire fighters using large quantities of water, or pressure buildup within water using equipment or process. The costs of a backflow incident – in litigation and damages, lost productivity, company reputation, premiums and more – can be devastating.
